Expression of interest

Dear families, in September of this year, 2024, the government is extending its current 15 hours of funding to include babies from nine months. This incentive is to support parents back in the workplace. The 15funded hours will be accessible for working parents and the government will soon release how parents can check their eligibility. From September 2025, the funded hours will be increased to 30 hours for qualifying working parents.

To meet the needs of our local families we are contemplating extending the age group we accept to under two year olds. We are considering the possibility of taking a small number of younger children from the age of 15months old into our already outstanding provision. Staff will be trained in meeting the emotional and care needs of younger children and there will be separate provision, inside and outside of the building to cater explicitly for younger children.

We anticipate that this news will generate a lot of interest, therefore the proposed opening of this new provision will be strictly to families in Plumpton and Plumpton Green only. As you can also appreciate, before we use our vital funds to purchase resources and equipment, we would like to gain an understanding if there is any interest in this facility.

Honeybees will continue its current opening hours as follows:

Monday to Wednesday 8.30am-5.00pm (3.30pm-5.00pm our LateBee session will be for children over 24 months only).

Thursday and Friday 8.30am-3.30pm.

38 weeks a year (Term time only).
